Greenland and the Faroe Islands are not members of the EU, so these parts of the Danish Kingdom are not subject to the regulations that apply between the Schengen nations. It appears in paragraph 5, number 1 in Denmarks instrument of accession to the Schengen convention that the Faroe Islands and Greenland are not subject to the regulations.
However, in the Schengen agreement, paragraph 5 number 2 it is decided that people travelling between on one side Greenland and Faroe Islands and on the other side countries in the Schengen partnership, Norway and Iceland, will not have their pass-port checked when entering another country.
These regulations are due to a special agreement because Greenland and Faroe Islands on one hand are not members of the European Union, but on the other hand are included in the travel solution within the framework of the Nordic Passport Union. Due to this agreement, Nordic citizens can travel the Nordic countries crossing approved border districts without carrying and having their passport checked. Other citizens can also travel between the Nordic countries borders without having their passport checked, but these citizens have to carry passport or another kind of approved travel identification papers.
У меня туго с английским языком, но я для себя перевёл это так:
Гренландия и Фарерские острова не являются членами Евросоюза, и потому не присоединились к Шенгенскому соглашению. Однако в пункте 5 Шенгенского соглашения принято решение, что люди, путешествующие из Дании/Исландии в Гренландию/Фареры или наоборот, будут освобождены от прохождения пограничного контроля.
В вашем случае вы попадаете в Гренландию из Исландии, поэтому у вас не будет пограничного контроля при въезде в Гренландию, а значит и виза как бы не требуется. Вот если бы Вы летели в Гренландию из Канады или США, тогда виза нужна. Если бы вы плыли туда прямо из Шотландии, то отдельная виза необходима. А если Вы попадаете туда из Исландии или Дании, то не нужна.
Хотя, может я и неправильно перевёл. Кто-то прочитает этот текст иначе?
