Last year I experienced Chengdu to Lhasa tour by car with reliable Tibetan agency. This year I would like to do the same on the Kashgar - Lhasa overland route, which is even harder. The agency provides car with local driver, Tibetan guide, overnight stays guesthouse standard and guarantees all required permits.
There are passes over 5000 m on the route, holy lakes, Aksai Chin, Guge Kingdom ruins, Mt Kailash (but without 52 kms trek around), Sakya monastery, Everest Base Camp with Rongbuk Mon., Shigatse, Gyantse and Lhasa with optional longer stay, if you wish. The cost is high (expect 3500 $ plus - depending of the size of the group) but there is no other way to make this difficult route. Please contact me if you are crazy enough to spent such a fortune for the unique expedition.

В прошлом году я путешествовал по Чэнду в Лхасу на машине с надежным тибетским агентством. В этом году я хотел бы сделать то же самое на сухопутном маршруте Кашгар - Лхаса, который еще сложнее. Агентство предоставляет автомобиль с местным водителем, тибетским гидом, проживание в гостевом доме стандартно и гарантирует все необходимые разрешения.

Thanks for the feedback. I am sorry to inform you that due to the lack of co-travellers (nobody responsed my posts on the few forums) I was forced to postpone the expedition for the same period in 2020 (start around 20th Sept 2020)
It is possible to drive this route in 2 weeks -14 days. If you will be interested please contact me in April - preferably via my website. Greetings

Thanks for your response Wojtek,
I'm determined to travel to the Mt Everest area, however, I am not yet certain whether to get there from Tibet or Nepal side. It looks like getting there from Nepal side is not that costly. I'm not experienced in travel in that area, and I'm just curious, is getting from Tibet side more expensive than from Nepal due to the government regulations? or some other factors affect the cost? The reason is because Mt Everest is much closer to Kathmandu than to any international gateway on the Chinese side. The closest gateway in Tibet will be Chengdu, then you must add flight or rail to Lhasa, rail or bus to Shigatse and 4WD to EBC. Easy but costly! On Chinese side you must also add cost of he permit, guide and agency commission (you are not allowed to go through Tibet on your own). This generates high cost. On the Nepal side the cost is lower, but it took me 10 days of heavy hiking to get from Jiri -where the road ends to EBC. You can reduce this stage by half flying by little plane to Lukla.

As I told you I did before the Everest trek on the Nepalese side. So now I want to see Everest from Tibet. On Nepalese side it is long walk up and down through many Sherpa villages but the high mountains are in the distance. As far as I know on Tibetan side high mountains are closer to enjoy them but very few villages, so the contact with locals is limited.
But EBC episode is just a small part of the 14-days epic journey along Himalaya Main Range I try to organize.

I am sorry to say that, but in 2019 I did not find enough travellers to form the small group. (optimum: 6 in the group)
In 2020 there is also a little chance, because international tourists are afraid about the virus in China.
But I do NOT give up and I will try again to find companions for September 2021.
